Exceptional emergency department and caring attentive in-patient care.
My experience with Margaretville Hospital was absolutely terrible. I went there with a deep laceration in my arm which had dirt and other debris in it. The staff washed out my wound, stitched me up, and sent me on my way. They did not however give me a tetanus shot despite me being due for one, they did not prescribe antibiotics despite just rinsing dirt off the bone of my arm, and after developing a sever infection and undergoing emergency surgery back in my home town I learned they had left pebbles in my arm as well as used non-dissolvable stitches inside my arm. For the sake of your own life never trust Margaretville hospital to properly take care of you.
Like most hospitals in the USA - they miss diagnosis.
This is a great facility for our community. Serves as an emergency triage department for serious injury; pactch 'em up and fly 'em out. Also has a great staff for other issues. Eileen King set my broken leg perfectly and both bones were broken. Been there for food poisoning, dog bite and use the lab and radiology facilities frequently. We are lucky to have them here.
This hospital, despite it's 5 star rating by medicare, is a glorified first aid station. Even had one staff member tell a group of us that procedures were rarely followed as written. Many examples of people getting sub-standard care.
