A better Inn you could not find. And Carol is a totally unique and marvelous lady. So definitely give it a try.

I know that other people were there the same time as I did...but I never heard a thing. I'think the next time I go it will be in the fall....I am sure that the autum trees are stunning.

At the end of the day, you're going for a vacation, right? Not the inevitable call to your credit card company to contest charges and all the grief that comes with it. The mediocrity of, at least, the Village Suites, do not make up for big, bad, Cauliflower Queen Carol.

I stayed here for 4 nights and had a wonderful time. The room was really cozy with fluffy pillows, cotton sheets and thick towels. The decor is charming. Every detail is thought out from the Victorian bedroom frame to antique prints. Each morning the host cooked a unique meal. One morning I had Belgian waffles and another with sausage-egg-poppy seed muffins. The grounds are amazing. Stunning views of the mountains and skyline. I was here when there was a full moon. Beautiful. This is the place to rest, relax and recharge. Well worth it. Don't hesitate. Thank you!

My fiancee Jeff Hoffman and I spent a lovely week at the Inn a few weeks ago. Our hostess Carol was all that we could have hoped for and more.

Carol has made this lovely old victorian into a charming cozy and historically interesting place to be at any time of the year. I asked about the history of the house and there was a binder full of information. The library full of a wonderful variety of books on all subjects. We enjoyed our times just chatting with Carol and getting to know her better The family stye breakfasts serviced in the elegant dining room by Carol and her daughter Erica were delicious, pancakes, waffles fresh backed muffins and cake, bacon and eggs o so delicious. And the view of the mountains is glorious. We booked again before we left for the October fall color and are hoping that we will also be married by Erica during that stay.

I have stayed at the Inn twice. The first time was to meet up with some old friends. I stayed in a beautiful room that was very clean with a super comfy bed. I actually over slept, it felt great.

The other reviews on Yelp, Trip Adviser, and Google that mention her are indeed true. So if you consider staying at any one of her locations -- the Margaretville Village Suites, the Motel, or the Margaretville Mountain Inn Bed & Breakfast -- know that it's a big risk. You better not complain about a frozen Jacuzzi, a cold building, a broken fireplace, a dirty bathroom, or a sparking extension cord (all part of our experience at the Suites) without cover from Carol. She'll call your request "disgusting," tell you to "get off my property," and misrepresent facts. When her website posts incorrect pricing, she considers honoring her offer a "discount" and feels no need to provide adequate services. (Note: When asked who caused the $25 discrepancy, she scolds "I'm not telling you that." I.e., it's your fault Carol!)

What a horror! Carol -- she goes by the "Cauliflower Queen" on other sites and lashes out at anyone who dares criticize her dated accommodations -- is so nasty you'd think she was a character in a bad indie movie. She's very real. And she will ruin your vacation if you dare cross her.

The next time I stayed, inspired by Eleanor Roosevelt, I went with the agenda of having some quiet time to take walks and read. I am not a morning person, so I routinely missed breakfast, but the owner was kind enough to save a plate of amazing homemade coffee cake for me. I did peak at the dining room and can only imagine how special a feeling it must be to have breakfast in that turn of the century dining room.
